My week of school

Monday:
On Monday the 28th of May the Year 7 and 8's gathered together in the Street for the usual morning assembly. This week is special because it's Samoan Language week so the Year 7 and 8 girls decided to put together a item for our school assembly on Friday. When it was Lunch-time all the girls that volunteered to participate came up with a dance to match our song Lau Samoa.
Tuesday:
Tuesday is the day the Year 8's go down to Tamaki College for TECH. When we went down to Tamaki College my group, Rua, had to go to Music. Some things we did while in Music room was we got the opportunity to learn how to play Guitar and Piano.

Fractions


WALT: Using TALK MOVES to clarify our Maths Thinking
For maths Mrs Sio gave Room 3 maths class Fractions in the presentation we had to find out what a Denominator was and what a numerator was. At the end we had to reflect about what we learnt about fractions and where we can find fractions in our everyday life.

For writing Mrs Stone gave Room 4 a presentation called Spectacular Sentences. This presentation mostly taught us what a complex sentence is and what a compound sentence is, and at the end we had to write about should we have longer or shorter holidays.

In Room 4 Literacy class Mrs Stone gave the Dahl group A Small Footprint - A Big impression. The story is mostly based around a women named Elsie Locke who was born in 1912 and died in 2001 who fought for things to help New Zealand be a better place in live in. Do you know about Elsie Locke?

Weekly Reflection

One thing that I did this week at school that I enjoyed was going swimming with Room 3 & 2 girls at the Glen Inees Pools on Friday the 4th of May. Before we went down to the pools all the girls had to to get ready and change into our swimming togs. I had to great time learning new skills about swimming and spending time with some of the Team 5 girls!!
