What happened at the beginning of the story? (one sentence)
Kiu was boasting to ugauga how beautiful he is and he is the most beautiful bird on the island of Niue.
What happened in the middle of the story? (one sentence)
Ugauga starts the race earlier then Kiu and when it was the next morning Kiu couldn’t find ugauga so he starts the race.
What happened at the end of the story? (one sentence)
Ugauga won the race a Kuli and Pusi told everybody on the lisland of Niue that Kiu lost to a slow crab and Kiu couldn’t stop crying.
WALT: retell the story again in our own words

Today I learned that to not boast to your friends or they will race you and they will start the race before you.

This is the new strategy that I used was simplifying fractions:
15 dived by 5 =3
35 dived by 5 =7
so the answer is 3 seventh.

Basketball

Start your writing here:
Guess what? Every Monday for the last few weeks our maths class goes to basketball in the school hall at 11.30am.

Our coaches are Vinnie and Shanice. They taught us a new game called the golden child. The first thing that you must do is get a into two teams and one team must be the running team and the other team must shoot a ball into the hoop. When they shoot the ball into the hoop, the person that’s running must stop where there are. When I got the ball into the hoop I felt like I was the master at shooting.

The last game that we played was a game that our coaches need to call out the number three and three people have to run up to a wall and touch it then they have to get a ball and shoot it into the hoop three times go to the back of the line.

After basketball was finished I wanted to asked if we could stay for another lesson but they will say no.Last but not least my favourite part was when we played the golden child and I hope we play it again.

Winter is here

“Wow”, in Auckland on June the 1’st it was as cold as antarctica, and I didn’t want to take off my warm fuzzy blanket when I was in bed. When I got to school I felt like my hands was frozen. When suddenly a wind of smoke blow me away when I was coming into class and I got more colder. Before morning tea we went for a run and when I huffed and puffed a steam of fog came out of my mouth.

The Blindfold Game

Guess what this morning Miss Lavakula’s literacy class got to play a new game that was called the blindfold game.

If you want to know how to play the Blindfold game one of  the first things that you must do is get in a large circle. An adult must call out your names and you must pick a bowl and start looking for the safety pins. When the timer starts, you have one minute. When the timer is finished you must count your pins that you collected. You must put your points up and you must give the blindfold to the next person.

When it was my turn, I decide to go for the bowl that had the most pins in it. When the timer started I put my hands right into the bowl and started digging through the rice. I pulled out only three pins but when the timer was about to finish I pulled out one more but I lost it when I was going to put it on the paper.

After Miss Lavakula put my points on the scoring board it was the next person’s turn. The person that went next  was Glennes. When the timer started I decide to tell Glennes where the pins were. When Glennes got her four pins the timer stopped and she said to me “Haha I beat your score”.

When the game was finished I felt disappointed that Glennes beat my score.  I had only found three pins.  I think the game is hard for me but it is a good game because you can play with your friends all day.
