Maths Work (24 hour time)

Do you know who to tell 24 hour time? Well this week Group B was on the mat doing DMIC with Mrs Tele'a and we learned how to tell time and we also learned how to convert that into 24 hour time. Above is the presentation me and my group worked on together. I hope you learned something new from my maths work.

Sheena Move Ya body Reflection

What have you accomplished this week? It was finally time to show our siva samoa to Team 5. Me and my group managed to accomplish memorizing the dance of by heart.

What did you find challenging? Me and the girls (Daliz and Jayde) found it really challenging teaching the boys the dance because they would always laugh and play around which didn’t help because when we danced the boys didn’t know what to do.

What has helped you to overcome these challenges? Just a few minutes before we had to go into the hall the boys finally got it together and we managed to help them memorize some moves.

What did you enjoy about the performances? I really enjoyed watching the seven group from each class performing but Room 4 only had two group but either then that I had a great time watching and performing and I hope Team 5 does it again.

Move ya Body Reflection this week

What have you accomplished this week? This week our group got bigger our new members are Jayde, Mereana, Leonardy and Junior. And together we managed to accomplish teaching a boys dance and combine it together to make one big dance.

What did you find challenging? I found it hard when we were trying to teach the boys dance because we didn’t know any dance moves for them.

What has helped you to overcome these challenges? Our team got together and managed to make moves to show the boys.

What would you like to work on next week? Next week me and my group are going to sharpen up the dance and learn where each person is standing for our performance to show to the whole Team 5.

This week for our independent work we had to work on how to change decimals to percentages and fractions. This activity helped me increase and help me understand more about decimals, percentages and fractions.

The Slushy Drinkers

Have you ever had a Slushy Drink? Well this week for literacy Mrs Stone gave the Dahl group: The Slushy Drinkers. I think the story is about kids in a space that is living on a space ship with robots, adults and their principal, I think they are also looking for a new planet to live on because probably a dangerous plague spread across planet earth. What do you think is happening in the story?

What happened today at assembly?

Every week on Friday Point England School has an assembly where we give out certificates and find out what happening around our school. But this week the assembly was very special because it was Tongan Language week.

Boys and girls from Year 1 to Year 8 preformed on the big stage in front of the whole school. The girls preformed their dance they did at Fiafia then was followed by their own dance their choreographed by themselves. Then lastly the Year 7 and 8 boys preformed a traditional boys dance then ended with a hip hop free-style dance. The Tongan group did a wonderful job representing their cultures. This week for writing in Room 4. We had to find what poems might mean and each student had to write an essay about what will change in New Zealand over the years. Below is my essay. Hope you enjoy my writing.

Have you ever wondered what New Zealand might be like in 2048? Well today in my essay I will be writing all about what will stay the same and what will change in New Zealand in the years to come.

The Population in New Zealand is growing, but very slowly. According to the net migration, New Zealand’s population won’t likely reach five million in the next few year. In 1984 New Zealand’s  population was 3,260,300, but in 2001 it grew to 3,846,100. But some people believe by 2021 the population would likely reach 4,375,000. That’s a lot of people in one country, right??


Is the Climate change impact in New Zealand irreversible? Climate Change may have already made a huge impact on New Zealand’s natural systems and the effects are likely to become worser. Soils in some areas have become drier and the temperature of the ocean has risen. Do you know Fox glacier in the South Island? Well from 2005 to 2011 it looked like a real glacier but ever since then the glaciers started shrinking which is a sign of Global warming.


So what do you think will change and what will stay the same in the years to come for New Zealand? I hope you learned something new from my writing about what New Zealand will be like in the future.
