Vincent Van Gogh

WALT: Justify our thinking using evidence from the text
Have you ever heard of a famous artist Vincent Van Gogh?? While this week for reading we were learning about the life of Van Gogh and his many artwork. I learned so much from this activity such as, Van Gogh's artwork wasn't valued that much when he was alive but 100 years later, a new museum was opened in honour of Vincent Van Goug in 1993 in Amsterdam where his artwork is displayed.

Communication to different audiences

WALT: write for a range of audiences
For writing this week we were learning about how we can communicate with different audiences. In the presentation above we had to find out what age group each book or advertisement was aimed at. The last two slides we had to write our own advert for ages 9-13 and 18-25.

Finding China

WALT: make sense of new information by connecting it to myself, texts I know and my world
This week for reading we got to read and learn about China. In the presentation above it will show facts and other information about China that I found out about. And lastly the little google drawing above my learning presentation is my create task where I had to write some things people that are travelling to China might expect or need to know before going to China.

Paideia Seminar 2018 (Term 4)

Today the Year 7&8 extension crew had our Term 3 Paideia seminar where we came together and contributed what we learned about health and fitness from the previous term with our groups. I think I did much better job in this Paideia seminar because I contributed my ideas and my thoughts more clearly and I talked much more. One thing that stood out to me from the Paideia Seminar was that obesity(being overweight) can actually stop you from joining in sports and other active activities. 

Lady Pink

In Room 5 we learned about a famous graffiti artist named Lady Pink. For our create task we had to create a presentation or a google drawing and show what we learned about this specific artist.

State Housing New Zealand

This week for reading Mrs Stone gave the Dahl group the articale: State housing New Zealand. The article was mostly talking about how throughout the years new state houses have been built in New Zealand and how the housing crisis have changed.

24 hour time

Have you ever learned about 24 hour time?? Well this week Room 3 maths class was very lucky since we got to learn about how 24 hour time works. You can view my learning about 24 hour time in the presentation above.

Quirky Artist

This week for reading Mrs Stone gave my reading group Quirky artists we had to search up information about an artist and what makes them weird.
