Marking my test helps me to improve my learning

Today in Mrs Tele'a's Maths class my group Tapaono marked our IKAN test. This time round when I did the the test it was more relaxing then last time where we had to look up at the T.V screen and try and keep up.   This time we used our chromebooks and earphones and we could do it twice to double check if we had the right answer.


The next day after we did the test we had to sit in our small group and mark our results with the teacher. I am kinda proud of my results because in some parts I made some silly mistakes and it was really challenging and now I know that next time when I do a IKAN test I have to improve myself more on fractions and place value.

I'm glad I got to see my results and even mark my work because it helps me to know exactly what I need to work on.

Today the Integers learned a way to solve fraction problems: 3/4 of 24=6 because 3/4+1/4=4/4 then I did 4x6=24,then I did 3/4 of 24=6

Statistics

WALT: study information (data), collect it, summarise and present it

My maths class have been learning about Statistics.  Statistics is when you gather information to find things out. First I had to create a google form. Then I got my friends to fill it out. Using a spreadsheet, I created my graph.


In my maths class, 14 people liked the song Hit the Quan. Only one person liked Shake it off, Watch me Whip and Where are you now.

My Practice activity

Today I learned a new way to solve a word problem:

64 divided by 4=16

I split the 64 into 40 and 24,then I did 40 divided by 4=10 then 24 divided by 4=6 because 4x6=24,then I add it together and it made 16.

Word Problems

Today the Exponents learned a new strategy: 
57 divided by 3=19
 I split the 57 into 30 and 27 then I did 30 divided by 3=10 then I did 27 divided by 3=9 then I add it together and it made 19.

Divison Facts

Walt: Solve division problems using multiplication facts or division in parts strategy

Today I learned two ways to solve a problem:  84 divided by 6=14  I split the 84 into 42 and 42 then I did 42 divided by 6=7 then I double it and it makes 14 my answer

Two,Fives and Tens

Today the Exponents learned about fractions of set.

I know that 5x2=10 because I know that 5x1=5 then I just double it and it equals 10.

Exponents Follow up for week 9

Walt: Solve harder fraction problems using my knowledge of basic multiplication, division and fractions facts.

Today the Exponents learned about more about fractions and today I know what 3/4 of 40 it's 30 because I know that 1/4 of 40=10 then I did 2/4 of 40 which is 20 then I double it again then it made 30.
