Converting 24 hour time

This week for maths since it was the first day back from the holidays my math's teacher: Mrs Tele'a gave us an easy presentation on how to convert time into 24 hour time. Take a look and you will see I have now mastered the skill of knowing how to tell the time and how to convert time.

Maths Work (24 hour time)

Do you know who to tell 24 hour time? Well this week Group B was on the mat doing DMIC with Mrs Tele'a and we learned how to tell time and we also learned how to convert that into 24 hour time. Above is the presentation me and my group worked on together. I hope you learned something new from my maths work.

Independent work (T3W5)

This week for our independent work we had to work on how to change decimals to percentages and fractions. This activity helped me increase and help me understand more about decimals, percentages and fractions.

Multiplying whole numbers by decimals. (Part 2)

This week for maths Mrs Tele'a gave our maths group: Newton, an activity all about how to mulitply whole numbers by decimals but part 2. Thank to this activity it has helped me learn to multiply whole numbers.

Word Problems (W1T3)

WALT: work collaboratively to solve word problems.

Hi and welcome to my blog. Have you ever wondered how to add and subtract decimals? Well take a look at the presenation above and see how I learned how to add and subtract decimals. In the presentation we got questions like: 4.26cm + 7.54cm + 3.90cm, and we had to find out the answer in groups of three or four.

Tapaono Interpreting Graphs

WALT: Identify relationships by using graphs.
For week 7 Mrs Tele'a gave the Tapaono an activity all about Interpreting graphs and creating graphs. This activity has helped the Tapaono strengthen their thinking about Graphs.

Time for Decimals

WALT -  Use 2 different strategies to solve word problems AND adding and subtracting decimals
This Week for Week 6 Mrs Tele'a gave the Tapaono group Decimals for our maths activity. This activity was made to help us improve more on decimals before we do our Gloss test with Mrs Tele'a.

Word Problems(T4W4)

WALT -  Use 2 different strategies to solve word problems
Today I have finished my group Tapaono's activity for week 4. This week's activity was all about Word problems. This activity had different kinds of word problems, like times and division.

Test practice #3

W.A.L.T: Interpreting what word problems are asking me to work out.
This week for Week 3 Mrs Tele'a gave Tapaono and the rest of our maths group Test Practice #3. This time we had to create new 3 word problems at the end. This activity has helped me and everyone in my maths get more prepared for our Gloss Test.

Test Prep #2

WALT -  a. Interpreting what word problems are asking me to work out.  
This week for Maths Mrs Tele'a prepared a practice presentation about questions about the Gloss Test we will be having next week. This presentation had word problems, multiplication, fractions and many more.  This Test Preparation has helped me learn and see what kind of questions I will be answering in the Gloss test.

Statistics and Probability

WALT: Use probability vocabulary to describe chances of an even.
To start of Term 4 Mrs Tele'a created a presentation about Statistics and Probability for Tapaono. In this presentation we were given questions of probability. For Example: What is the possibility of see a flying dog?", and we had to find out the answer for these questions. This presentation has helped me improve my thinking about Statistics and Probability much more.

Ratio and Proportion Word Problems

WALT: Explain or show the steps we took to solve each problem
This activity that Mrs Tele'a gave us to work on was about using Ratio and Proportion to solve Word Problems. Thanks to this activity it helped me to improve my knowledge about Ratio and Proportion.

Multiplication Pyramid

Today I have finished my maths activity for Week 7. On this activity we had to multiple the numbers until we got the biggest number at the top point and had to use place value, and double number.

Area and Perimeter

WALT:  Identify and calculate the perimeter and area of various shapes.
Today I have finished my followup activity for Week 6. This presentation is all about Area and Perimeter in a shape, and my group Tapaono had to figure out the word problems about the Width and length of the Shape.

Word problems W4

WALT:  Reviewing our knowledge of fractions using word problems.   Can I interpret what the question is asking me?
On this presentation my group Tapaono had to solve these word problems for week 4, and once we finished the presentation we had to find a buddy to work with, pick one word problem and record how we got our answer. At the end of this presentation we learned how to use a new recording site and how to figure out how to solve word problems faster.

Word Problems W5

WALT:  Explore the use of 'Screencastify' to explain how I problem solve.  Clearly display my working using this process.
Today I have finished my Word problems for week 5. My group Tapaono had to do this presentation about word problems where we had to solve problems on each slide. One thing that my group Tapaono has learned from doing this activity was finding out what operation to use (+,-,x,/)

Maths Activity W3

Today my group Tapaono had to use a recording add called Screencastify where we had to buddyup and pick one problem from the presentation and share how we got our answer.

The person that I buddied up for this occuasion was Inez from my group and we worked on problem 3. Problem 3 talked about how tall was Mr Murrin and his brother tom, and we had to find out how tall was Tom. See the video above to see how me and Inez got our answer.

How to use Screencastify:

Screencastify is an app on our netbook that records anything like word problems and much more. Screencastify is coloured black and has white holes and should be on the right side of your chromebooks, and now Screencastify is now used many ways in Team 5.

Fractions Practice

WALT- Revise and Remember our knowledge on fractions
Today I worked these fraction Problems out. Mrs Tele'a's maths class group Tapaono's week 2 activity is about fractions. On this presentation it has problems where you have identify fractions, adding fractions and simplifying fractions, and this helped me improve my knowledge about fractions.

Meausring Introduction

WALT:  Learning about how we measure things everyday - from the non-standard methods through to standard.
Last week Mrs Tele'a's maths class did a measuring followup where we all had to use our footprint to measure objects and to find out how many millimetres, centermeters and meters in the object, and I learned more about millimeters ,centermeter and meters.

Probability

WALT: Investigate situations that invole chance and identifying possible outcomes
This is my activity for week 9/10, this presentation was all about Probability about things that can happen unlikely, likely or certain. My favourtie slide would probley be slide 7 because it was really fun thinking about things that would happen to me.
