Sheena Move Ya body Reflection

What have you accomplished this week? It was finally time to show our siva samoa to Team 5. Me and my group managed to accomplish memorizing the dance of by heart.

What did you find challenging? Me and the girls (Daliz and Jayde) found it really challenging teaching the boys the dance because they would always laugh and play around which didn’t help because when we danced the boys didn’t know what to do.

What has helped you to overcome these challenges? Just a few minutes before we had to go into the hall the boys finally got it together and we managed to help them memorize some moves.

What did you enjoy about the performances? I really enjoyed watching the seven group from each class performing but Room 4 only had two group but either then that I had a great time watching and performing and I hope Team 5 does it again.

What happened today at assembly?

Every week on Friday Point England School has an assembly where we give out certificates and find out what happening around our school. But this week the assembly was very special because it was Tongan Language week.

Boys and girls from Year 1 to Year 8 preformed on the big stage in front of the whole school. The girls preformed their dance they did at Fiafia then was followed by their own dance their choreographed by themselves. Then lastly the Year 7 and 8 boys preformed a traditional boys dance then ended with a hip hop free-style dance. The Tongan group did a wonderful job representing their cultures. Move your body activity

Learning about moving your body is not just by using your body it's also about your mind too. Today for inquiry Room 3 did an activity where we had to pick one person from our team to do a stacking cup competition with our other classmates. The four kids that were nominated to do the competition was Adrienne, Santana, Chastyi and Jayden. They were timed to see who is the fastest and Chastyi won. (Time: Chastyi-9.90s, Santana-14.96s, Jayden-15.76s, Adrienne- 21.32s.

I learned today that when someone is forced to do something they are not comfortable with I should encourage them so they have the confidence to do it. I also learned that when I fail I should keep on Preserving. 

Emotions and Music

For this Term's main focus about music the Teachers of Team 5 gave they students a task where we had to find songs to match each emotions. Hope you enjoy it.

Orchestra

This week for Inquiry we had to create a presentation about an orchestra and had to look on line about  facts about a orchestra in groups of 2 or 3. My Buddy: Mereana made this presentation to share what we learned about an orchestra.

Niue Language Week 2017.

To finish of Niue Language week for 2017 the Pt England Niue group prepared an item to share with the whole school for the special occasion.

Before they started Mrs Langitupu and a couple of students that knew how to speak fluent Niue did their introductions, and once they were finished a very popular Niue song come on and the Niue group started to sway and dance to the music. The girls were leading the dance while the boys were at back, all of the girl's looked like Niue Princess and the boys looked like Princes. To finish of the dance the Boys came to the front and began to do the Niue Haka.

When they dance was finished and were were heading back to their seats everybody could tell they were proud Niue kids and most parents had tears in their eyes. They all were proud of their Cultural, and the Niue theme for this year was:The Niue Language is the heart of Niue People.

My Experience of Manaiakalani Film Festival

As Room 3 were preparing to film for the Manaiakalani Film Festival, which was held every year since 2008.But before we could film we had to come up with some idea's that we thought might go great with The Film Festival. At the end of class we had come up with three thrilling idea's for Manaiakalani Film Festival.

When my group started filming I found learning and remembering my lines difficult and also trying not to laugh when someone said something humorous really challenging, but one thing that I found good was that my group actually finished filming in only 1 HOUR! and once our group watched the film our Class Room filled with laughter because the film was so humerous. I am really looking forward to seeing Room 3's movies on the big screen and I Guarantee our movie is the BEST!!

Smart Footprint: Future Footprints

Today I have finished my Cyber-smart activity for this week. On this activity our class had to pick a kiwi athlete and explore their profiles and write what ever we learned about them on slide 3, and on the very last slide we had to create our own future profile of what I want to accomplish in 10 or 20 years time.
